Suggestions:- - - - - Whatever you do, eat Smarties as snack! Or use them in a handout. "Be Smart ( smarties), Chews ( gum) A Great School!". Something like that?! - - - - - - If you can, take a tour of a nearby college or university. Arrange the tour with the school's student services organization (at least, they would be a good place to start!). Find an orientation or new student services department. (My university had one, I am assuming others will have similar programs).
- Have a night to explore scholarships that are available and how to apply for them. (It's better if the girls already have in mind where they might like to attend. Then you can concentrate on those places.)
- Maybe bring in an educated woman (approved by priesthood leaders) to talk to the girls about her educational experience and how it has helped her.
- Discuss college lingo. What is does it mean to delcare a "Major". What are the benefits of going to college?
- Help the girls research colleges they may be interested in; Or colleges in the area
